Compliance Requirements and Guidelines

As part of our standard procedures and industry guidelines, we are required to obtain references for all new employees.

The information below outlines suitable references and it is important that you provide us with the correct information in order for us to progress your application as quickly as possible.

Please provide 2 Professional References.

  • Your current or most recent employer
  • Your second most recent employer
  • If you have previously worked in care, please provide reference details from that job.

✔️ Who can give a Professional Reference?

References must come from a professional email addresses, and should be provided by either:

  • Previous Managers
  • HR Departments

❌ We can’t accept:

  • Two references from the same workplace
  • Colleagues
  • Personal email addresses (gmail, hotmail, icloud etc)

What if I don’t have 2 Professional References?

If you have recently been studying, you can provide details of a teacher or tutor. Otherwise, you can provide details of a character referee.

✔️ Who can give a Character Reference?

  • Someone of professional standing (other health professionals, doctors, nurses, carers (not from Cera), teachers, lawyers, emergency service officers, army officers)
  • Someone in good standing in the community (religious officials, police officers).

❌ We can’t accept:

  • Past / present colleagues.
  • Family members / partners. Character References can't say the word 'friend' in them. Please let your Referees know this.

We will contact your referees straight away, so please make sure they know to respond quickly
