What is palliative care?

Palliative care, or often referred to as end of life care, is offered to our clients who suffer from a range of progressive illnesses that may be terminal. Our carers will help provide support within the home with prompting medication use, companionship, domestic care, personal and hygiene care and specialist care. Our carers provide end of life care services to suit the needs of the individual and make their quality of life as high as possible.

What are the options for palliative care at home?

For palliative care, we offer a range of services including nightly visits and full live-in care packages. Our team will help you to choose the package that is right for your loved one to ensure the highest quality of care to be provided. We can offer a range of end of life care and palliative care services that include; personal care, domestic help, hygiene assistance, medication prompting, companionship, mobility assistance and more specialist care. We can also offer respite care for current carers who give palliative care at home.

Benefits of palliative care

Having palliative care within your own home can ease the strains of treatments and difficulties living with long-term illnesses. Staying within your own home for most individuals is a more preferable method of receiving care as, home comforts and normal routines do not have to be disturbed. Individual personalised end of life care packages will be arranged for your loved one ensuring that the most appropriate and best quality care can be provided. Pain management and medication administration can be easily provided within your loved ones own home and can help alleviate unnecessary stress and discomfort that may develop from moving out of their own home. Our carers aim to help your loved one to lead the highest quality of life that they are able to for those needing palliative care at home. We achieve consistency of care by ensuring that your loved one has the same carer for at least 4 weeks and have a maximum of two carers in rotation. This means that a regular routine can be developed ensuring that pain relief and medication prompting can be managed accurately.

Arranging Palliative Care

Palliative care at home can be arranged within a week of your initial enquiry. You will speak with our specialist care coordinators to arrange the best type of 24 hour live-in care for your loved one.
