Female Care Assistant - HICSS

You will be part of our team providing care under the HICSS scheme - The Home Independence and Crisis Support Service, supporting individuals being discharged from hospital on a short-term basis to help them regain their independence. You will work with clients to set goals specific to their needs and will help social workers understand their future needs and how these can be met.

Responsibilities of a Hospital Home responder vary depending on our customers' needs and requirements but you should expect to support with the following:

  • Crisis Intervention
  • Answering Emergency Pendant Alarms
  • Palliative Care
  • Emergency Response
  • Providing personal care – Washing, bathing, toileting
  • Preparation of meals
  • Support with medication
  • Light domestic duties
  • Visits out into the community

This role is eligible for block shift pay and you will have a set 7 - week shift rota with a guaranteed hours contract, therefore you must be flexible with your availability. We cover NE34 and SR6 areas.

Key requirements for this role:

  • A passion for helping others, previous caring experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A driving licence with access to your own vehicle for work is essential
  • You should be flexible to work various shifts, including weekends
  • This role is subject to a DBS/PVG check
