Care Assistant - Extra Care Nights
Cera are recruiting Care Assistants for our Extra Care service in Blandford Forum (DT11) at Trailway Court. We’re hiring for part-time and full-time permanent night-time positions only. It’s secure, rewarding work with good pay, great training, and no previous experience needed.
Are you kind, a people person, and someone who loves making a difference? Then this could be the perfect role for you. As a Carer, you’ll genuinely make a difference every single day — no experience required.
Extra Care units offer residents their own self-contained living space within a larger building, with care staff based on-site to provide personalised support. As a Care Assistant in our Extra Care Unit, you’ll help residents with varying needs to live as independently as possible, following individual care and support plans.
Every client’s needs are different. You might help with housework, prepare a hot meal, offer companionship, assist with medication, or help with washing and dressing. More than anything, our carers become trusted companions — offering encouragement, reassurance, and a friendly presence when life feels challenging. Caring isn’t always easy, but families are deeply grateful that you’re there.
Our benefits include:
- Night-time shifts only and alternate weekends
- Enhanced bank holiday rate
- Holiday pay and pension scheme
- Free DBS, company mobile phone and uniform
- Access to BHN Extras and eligibility for the Blue Light Card — thousands of discounts on shopping, food, days out and more
- Exclusive discounts to help you get on the road: savings on driving lessons, fuel, insurance, maintenance, cycle hire and more
- Enhanced maternity (12 weeks full pay), paternity and parental leave
- Industry-leading career development, including the Care Certificate and NVQs — with 50% of salaried roles filled internally
- Wellbeing support including EAP, mental health first aiders, healthcare cash plan, free eye tests and contributions to glasses
- Extra earnings through our Care Friends referral scheme — £500 per referral
